This is exactly why we decided to give you some advice on how to stay motivated to commit to your fitness journey, and to NOT give up now! Keep reading to find out our best 5 pieces of advice in order to not let a lack of motivation stop you from working towards your goals.
Have a fitness buddy
Having someone to go to the gym, run, or train with is an amazing tool to stay motivated and to make your workout sessions more fun! Training with a partner helps you stay on track by keeping you accountable, and you can motivate yourselves together. Plus, it's a nice way to spend quality time with a friend or a partner.
Keep a workout journal
Writing down your goals, your small wins, your thoughts, and your feelings is another great way to keep track of your progress whilst also keeping you motivated. In fact, being able to look back and see how far you've come is a motivation in itself, and writing down your aspirations frequently helps you keep them in mind at all times.
Remember your "WHY"
Why did you decide to embark on this journey? Is it to feel better in your skin? Is it so you can stay fit and healthy until you're old? Is it to be able to play with your kids without running out of breath? Establishing and remembering your "WHY" is an amazing strategy to help you stay disciplined.
Plan small rewards for each goal you reach
What matters is the journey, not the end goal. In order to make it more enjoyable, try setting yourself some small goals, such as "losing 5 pounds", "hitting 135lbs on the bench", or "running a 5K". Then, prepare some rewards for each goal you reach. That can be a new pair of running shoes, a supplement you've been wanting to try, a nice dinner out, or even a spa day! You deserve to feel proud of yourself along the way.
Make a vision board
Making a vision board with pictures and quotes that fuel your inspiration and motivation is another great way to keep your goals in mind. You can either make a virtual vision board and use it as your wallpaper, or print your images and hang your vision board in your bedroom!
